East Atlanta Village Portraits // Andrea & Becca
Andrea & Becca were married during the COVID-19 pandemic in a small and lovely intimate ceremony on their back porch, so a few months later, we joined up for their East Atlanta Village portraits to explore colorful mural art, capture photos of the place they first met, celebrate, and commemorate their wedded bliss!
Although light and color are always going to be on the forefront of my mind, shapes and negative space are never far behind. The East Atlanta Village has variety in every aspect! Andrea & Becca jumped back into their wedding clothes: an amazing mauve dress and blue suit. And, then we took a walk together, starting near the Argosy and traveling in a big circle with a lot of zig-zags.
We met new dog friends and acted completely silly in the middle of a sidewalk. Andrea and Beccacuddled and told each other sweet things, and we had a blast. My mission on portrait sessions is to have a really fun hangout together while getting some great photos. I want it to feel like you’re hanging out with a friend. That’s partially how I create this all-important space for you to let your guard down and be yourselves!

What were you most anxious or nervous about regarding your session and how did it turn out?
We were most nervous about looking too stiff and not feeling like ourselves.

What was your favorite moment in the shoot?
All the laughs and giggles.

What advice would you give to others planning a session?
Have fun! Be yourselves! Don’t be afraid to ask for what you would like.
