Atlanta Botanical Gardens Portrait Session // Victoria & Jason
Victoria reached out to me about a portrait session for her and Jason’s wedding announcement and included some of the most magical words I’ve ever heard: Atlanta Botanical Gardens, rainbows, and the full desire to make weird and wild art with me. Victoria is a graphic designer and living proof about why I love working with fellow artists.
We very strategically scheduled their session based on their St Patrick’s Day wedding anniversary and the Orchid Daze celebration at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and really enjoy the show the gardens put on with their orchid display! The Atlanta Botanical Gardens is stunning any time of year and they always have something amazing in bloom, but the Orchid Daze display is something else entirely. I had the complete pleasure of scouting this out a week in advance to make plans for our session. During that time, took hundreds of reference photos, and I’m so glad I did. There’s so much to take in, learn, and enjoy!
When I arrived, I was blown away by Victoria & Jason’s looks. They went full formal plus COLOR! I was madly in love already. I’d been excited for weeks leading up to the session… But this hyped me to the new level when I saw them.
Atlanta Anniversary Portraits
We entered the gardens, with our fantastic guide Phil, and went straight to the Japanese gardens. It has this lovely circular arch and calming pond. Honestly, it feels like you’re in another world within the gardens. And I definitely wanted to include it in the session. From there, we headed over to the conservatory – with only a few stops on the way. There, we entered into the main event. The Fuqua Conservatory and Orchid Center has so many different sections that honestly we could have spent twice as long and then some just in there! Victoria and Jason were so open to my weird and wild ideas, down for whatever I wanted to try out and really into all of the gorgeous scenery and plants we came across. We made complete MAGIC. My favorite moment of the whole session was the huge rainbow display in the orchid room as kismet for Victoria & Jason. They love rainbows and specifically brought a rainbow parasol to include in their photos!
We closed out with the Atlanta skyline in the Skyline Garden, capturing some amazing Atlanta views. This session was truly a reflection of Victoria, Jason, their love, and their artistic hearts. Incorporating rainbows, wild plants, gorgeous colors, rainbows, and skylines was a complete dream.
