One of the things I love to see when I scroll through my own Instagram feed is portrait sessions in big cities, like New York, London, and LA. They’re always incredible and have the most beautiful, edgy vibes. I’ve been wanting to capture something similar. Atlanta has some incredible architecture and businesses that really show off that vibe here! So, when I started talking with Shanaya & Harshil about their Atlanta portrait session, I realized this might be a great chance to create a fun big city session of our own.

Shanaya & Harshil are big fans of a rooftop bar. So, we began planning a session around their love of the city life. I began scouting possible options and found St. Julep. St. Julep is a gorgeous mid-century modern bar in Atlanta that really fit the look were going for. It turns out, Shanaya & Harshil love St. Julep, so it was a perfect fit!

Atlanta Portraits at St. Julep’s Rooftop Bar

I met up with Shanaya & Harshil a few blocks away from St. Julep’s rooftop bar. We began walking down the street, and like with every session – I kept my eyes peeled for something unique that stood out to me. While I always look for light and color, this session also focused on the edgy and modern vibes we were looking for. It was important to find a harder look – metal, glass, corners, shadows. Shanaya & Harshil were absolute troopers as found what we wanted {even with it being 95 degrees out!}.

When we were done on the street, we headed inside St. Julep. They were actually closed for an event but were SO gracious to let us up to the bar before their event started. Shanaya & Harshil have been here before, but never when it was empty like this. It was a special treat for all of us. I absolutely loved the view of the city and Shanaya & Harshil looked amazing cuddling up against the railing around the rooftop.I seriously want to send a special thanks to St. Julep for letting up take photos in their immaculate-ly styled rooftop bar! It was a dream come true and we all loved every minute.
