Davidson-Arabia Mountain Engagement Session // Nadia & Alex
Nadia & Alex love Davidson-Arabia Mountain. So much so that they knew from the first moment that we began planning their engagement session that it would be the place for their portraits. I wasn’t complaining! I’ve photographed other portraits and elopements here, and I love every chance I get to be on this gorgeous mountain. The day of Nadia & Alex’s engagement session turned out to be pretty dramatic. Georgia was getting some of the fall-out from the tropical storms on the coast. None of us were sure about what to expect, but Nadia & Alex were troopers – from the drizzling rain to the downpour, and the gorgeous sunset we got in the end.
The rain was amazing for Nadia & Alex, despite everything. They have such an incredible dramatic and romantic vibe – very much Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy. Their chemistry was off the charts – and the rain gave us the best Pride & Prejudice feelings we could have asked for.
Portraits at the Old Quarry Office
Nadia & Alex shared their secret favorite spot with me: the Old Quarry office. It’s a gorgeous little tucked away location filled with stone ruins. Stories say the workers used to toss their peach pits after lunch around the quarry and now there’s some truly beautiful peach trees in the area. It made for a perfect location and backdrop for Nadia & Alex!
Nadia even brought a little cake for the two of them to enjoy once the weather had cleared, which was super fun. I can definitely say none of my clients have eaten cake in the rain… but it was a fun way to practice for their wedding day! After visiting the Old Quarry, we decided to use the remaining light to drive to the other entrance of Davidson-Arabia mountain so we could enjoy the sunset. The evening cleared up and we had an incredible sunset full of oranges {one of my favorite views}. Because of the storm, we lucked out and the mountain was empty – something else I’ve never seen before.
