Downtown Cartersville Engagement // Chelsea & HunterÂ
Chelsea & Hunter’s engagement session took us to downtown Cartersville, a place chock full of meaning for them – and me too. This was a place I spent while I was in college because of its location. TO be back and to be able to photograph such a beautiful session with Chelsea & Hunter was amazing. And the best thing of all? Hunter and I super-secretly worked together to turn this session into a proposal, as well!
Downtown Cartersville Proposal and Engagement Portraits
Turns out, Downtown Cartersville is the perfect spot for photos. We started off at this fantastic little coffee shop – with amazing boba tea. After Hannah & Peter’s engagement session, I’ve become pretty obsessed with this tea! Anyway, we explored around here before hitting the Legion and exploring a bit. {And you know I beelined for the nearest banana tree. I’m SUCH a sucker for those huge leaves!}
The spot Hunter and I had picked out for the proposal itself is the Grand Theatre. I LOVED being back at this spot – the theatre is so cool. We had planned ahead to have a specific cue and time in the session so it was less stressful for him. When he heard the cue, Hunter dropped a knee and Chelsea was so surprised! It was a great time, many tears were shed {by both Chelsea & myself}.
Once we’d recovered, we did a costume change {very Tim Burton-esque} and explored even more of the area. We found some incredible yellow walls of a shaved ice booth and some of the murals on the Cartersville square. By the time we finished exploring, we had circled back to the coffee shop. It was a great way to spend the day – I loved planning this proposal and session!
