Fall Wedding at Longleaf Vineyard // Caroline & Conor
Caroline & Conor’s wedding was stunning and when I say that I was psyched for this wedding, I’m not lying. Caroline & Conor’s gorgeous Asheville wedding at Longleaf Vineyard was a long time coming. I couldn’t wait for it to arrive. Plus, I got to work with one of my favorite friendors, Plain with Sprinkles. We’ve been friends for a while and finally got the chance to work on a wedding together! They brought their A game for Caroline & Conor and it definitely paid off. Between the color palette and the family & friends celebrating with the couple, the entire day was warm and happy and completely lovely – perfect for Caroline & Conor.
Fall Wedding Day in Asheville, NC
Caroline & Conor really leaned into the fall vibes for their celebration. Everywhere you looked were fall colors: clementine, burgundy, pink, orange, and yellows in really warm tones. It was their favorite colors and super autumnal without being over the top with pumpkins or foliage. Over the past few years, I’ve really seen couples lean into ways to make a season or a vibe “theirs” and this had to be one of my favorites.
Caroline & Conor are some amazing people. They’re just great to be around and so was all of their family. The entire day I felt so welcomed and like I was part of the group. Being able to photograph all of the relationships in Caroline & Conor’s lives was really special… and to do it all in Asheville was amazing. I LOVE this city and the relaxed, laidback vibe it always gives me.
What did you love about your venue/wedding location?
Conor: The view of the mountains is a stunning backdrop. All of our vendors did such an amazing job with the reception tent that you forgot it was a tent. They did an incredible job.
Caroline: Longleaf Vineyard feels like it’s completely separate from the rest of the world. You’re in a place where you can see almost a 360 view of the mountains, and it’s so peaceful. The property managers are also so helpful and kind; they really were a huge part of our day coming together!
Wedding Looks for the Couple
In addition to being amazing people, Caroline & Conor are super stylish. Conor wore a deep green suit jacket. It popped perfectly against the mountain views of Asheville and when he stood next to Caroline, they both looked so good together. Caroline’s wedding dress and entire wedding day look was so fantastic. Their gown looked like it was two pieces, but it was really just one. It was absolutely gorgeous with a satin bottom. Caroline also had the sickest pointy toe shoes to complete their look. Absolutely beautiful!
Asheville NC Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony space at Longleaf Vineyard was overlooking the mountains and the vines. It was a completely gorgeous day, stunning for Caroline & Conor. The newlyweds used more orange and yellow flowers to decorate the wooden arbor that stood at the centerpiece of their ceremony. So gorgeous! On top of being gorgeous, Caroline & Conor’s ceremony was really sweet. Caroline & Conor both talked about how they’ve given each other space to find themselves and what that looks like in their relationship. It was an honor to hear them being so vulnerable in their vows. – definitely made me weepy
Most memorable moment from your wedding day?
Conor: Seeing Caroline come down the aisle, and our first dance.
Caroline: Seeing Conor when I was walking down the aisle- it felt like he was the only other person there.
What were you most anxious or nervous about regarding your wedding day and how did it turn out?
Conor: I was really anxious about doing my vows. I didn’t care what anyone else thought, but I cared what Caroline thought. When I saw they were moved by them, it meant the world to me.
Caroline: I was super anxious about being able to express myself fully during our ceremony in a way that was meaningful to me and Conor. I don’t love being the center of attention/public speaking but just focusing on Conor made everything else flow!
Portraits at Longleaf Vineyard
Plain with Sprinkles created a beautiful lounge in front of the wine cavern at Longleaf Vineyard. It was the perfect spot for portraits of Caroline & Conor with their wedding party. Super fun and unique. Caroline & Conor didn’t want to spend a ton of time doing their photos and honestly, this is becoming more common with couples. We got great photos – without spending a lot of time out of their day! It made sense to them and they wanted to get back to the party. I’m always down with that. Later on in the evening, I made sure to bring Caroline & Conor back out for sunset portraits – again, we kept it short and sweet with the chilly evening air. But it was just what we needed!
What advice would you give to other couples planning their wedding?
Conor: Really enjoy the early part of picking out your vendors and finding out what you want the wedding to feel like before it gets to the point where you’re doing a lot of coordinating.
Caroline: Try to find some time to set aside just to complete wedding tasks (like going to a coffee shop) that’s separate from the other time you spend together so it doesn’t feel like all of your free time is spent wedding planning. Also, if you choose to hire a planner/coordinator, find a coordinator you’re comfortable with and trust; our coordinator was our lifeline throughout the planning process and on our wedding day.
Longleaf Vineyard Wedding Reception
Caroline & Conor had the most incredible details for their fall reception. Some of my favorites were the paintings and script work from Freckles & Ink. Those little pieces of decor just popped up throughout the venue and brought a great personal touch to the wedding. Caroline also created some fun camp pennants to honor their camp crew who attended. It was super sweet and another way to show how amazing Caroline & Conor are. I also loved how they decorated their wedding cake – instead of flowers, they used citrus fruits which brought more of those fall colors naturally to the decor.
The entire evening was a blast. Caroline & Conor had a great party crew, ready to dance and enjoy the reception. It was fantastic.
Any tips for future couples on how to prepare for their wedding photos?
Conor: Make sure you have the important people/setups you want mapped out in your head beforehand so you don’t miss out on anything.
Caroline: Be super honest with each other and the photographer(s) about what actions/poses make you feel comfortable and like yourself.
Caroline & Conor, congratulations – I’m so happy for you both! Your entire day was stunning and the perfect fall wedding. I’m thrilled I could be there with you!
