Aulby & Shane are theater writers and performers, cabaret & neo vaudeville specifically, and you’d better believe they brought those vibes and immense creativity to their wedding. I had an absolute blast with them and their friends and family during their McRitchie-Hollis Museum wedding day. Aulby & Shane were so creative about their wedding day, and I’m obsessed with how it all came together. Aulby & Shane were visiting Newnan for a theater festival and decided to use this really cool spot for their wedding venue.

Aulby & Shanemarried at the McRitchie-Hollis Museum in Newnan GA, a historic house that now serves as a time capsule and museum. It’s absolutely stunning and I loved that I had the chance to photograph a wedding here. Aulby’s dad officiated their ceremony, which meant everything felt super personalized and really unique. I loved watching him and Aulby go back and forth together throughout the day, but especially during the ceremony.

Aulby’s look included a crimson jacket with matching platform high heels and it was legit one of my favorite wedding looks EVER. They brought three pairs of incredible shoes, which turned out to be a good thing since a pair broke. All of the different reds in their outfit just came together beautifully and looked killer. Shane matched in his black suit and red tie, both looking sharp as hell. I love that they chose red as their accent color. It’s easy to overdo red, but everything looked amazing!

While Aulby’s dad led the ceremony, their brother – a professional chef – created and decorated the cake, and everyone in their loving community contributed a little something to the day. The icing on the cake of the whole event was when Shane pulled out his ventriloquist dummy Jimmy, who speaks in a Jimmy Stewart voice and visited guests table to table. I LOVE when couples make sure to include aspects of themselves on a day like this!
