Piedmont Room Wedding Day // Lizzy + Brock
Lizzy + Brock’s Piedmont Room wedding day was a dream come true. From the moment Lizzy + Brock reached out to me, I knew that they were a couple with a real vision and it was going to be a spectacular day. On the phone, they told me that their vision was of walking into the clouds at sunset, which I just think is absolutely beautiful. From the colors to the actual vibe of the entire day, Lizzy + Brock, their team at the Piedmont Room and Pop and Fizz really came through on that in their design! I can’t wait for you to see all of their details!
Getting Ready
Lizzy and Brock got ready separately before meeting at their ceremony at the Piedmont Room. Brock was bedecked in a deep blue suit with black lapels befitting a Rat Pack member and Lizzy was royalty in her heckin’ sparkly blush dress complete with crown! YES, a crown. Her look was definitely so much fun to photograph! I couldn’t wait to get them together for portraits in the park.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
I would tell myself to slow down during the day. I was so excited to get to the wedding, and I feel like the event was over in a blink of an eye. So, I wish I had been more intentional in savoring each moment.

The Ceremony
The newlyweds chose to have a gorgeous circular arch covered in florals as the centerpiece for their ceremony. I’m honestly still obsessed over it. I don’t always get to see this many flowers on a wedding day, so it was super special and it really brought that romantic, cloud feeling to life!

Most memorable moment from your wedding day?
Walking down the aisle and seeing Brock at the end. We did not do a first look and this moment was all I hoped it would be!
What were you most anxious or nervous about regarding your wedding day and how did it turn out?
I was nervous that I would mess up my vows! I almost messed up one of the lines, but our officiant kept us moving forward and I don’t think anyone noticed!

Atlanta Wedding Portraits
After their ceremony, we did portraits in Piedmont Park and the Piedmont Room. The Piedmont Rom is such a spectacular venue to hold a wedding with its walls and walls of windows letting in dreamy natural light. Lizzy + Brock trusted me immensely as I asked them to move into strange slices of light for dramatic portraits. At the park, we worked around the people who were enjoying the beautiful day. It’s a challenge I’m well used to, and it can be fun to figure out ways to hide them or work around them. Either way, I LOVE Lizzy + Brock’s portraits.
What did you love about your venue/wedding location?
The venue was beautiful in it’s own right, and we were fortunate to have a decorator who emphasized and complemented the architecture. We loved that it overlooked Piedmont Park, which is one of our favorite places to be in ATL.
Piedmont Room Wedding Reception
Lizzy + Brock had a great reception. It was a fun space for their guests to kick back and relax, which is always a blast. With good music, delicious food, and lots of great interactions, I loved every minute of it. Before their guests entered, I had the chance to capture Lizzy + Brock’s reactions to the room…. Uh, can this be a thing at more weddings please? They ended the night with a car send off – which was perfect!

What advice would you give to other couples planning their wedding?
Don’t try to do it all yourself. It took so much stress off of our day and minds to have Raven and other vendors who live and breathe weddings. Many of the things that our vendors took care of for us we would not have been able to imagine doing on our own, and the day was magical for us because we did not have to solve any problems.
Congrats again, Lizzy + Brock. I’m so happy I had the chance to party and celebrate with you!
