I first met Thomas & Emma during Caroline & Conor’s wedding, as Thomas was in the wedding party. Caroline & Conor’s wedding was one of the most fun days I’ve ever photographed, so I had no doubt working with Thomas & Emma would be equally as fun, and I wasn’t wrong! I was thrilled when they reached out about me photographing their wedding, too. It’s always so special to work with my couples and their loved ones! Thomas, Emma, and I immediately began planning their engagement session once they booked me. From the start, they knew that they wanted their session to have a few particular vibes – and a session at Cator Woolford Gardens fit the bill.
Garden Party Engagement Session at Cator Woolford Gardens
Cator Woolford Gardens was actually one of the enchanting venues that Thomas & Emma considered for their big day. So, they knew how much they already liked it – plus it gives the greatest secret garden vibes ever, so it was perfect for the garden look they wanted for their portraits! For the first part of their session, Thomas & Emma dressed up and we created such romantic photos! All of the greenery, stone work, and their classy outfits worked perfectly to create that garden party look they’d been dreaming of. We even lucked out with the dramatic wisteria everywhere – it’s so temperamental with the weather, and hardly blooms for long. But I’m stoked it was out for Thomas & Emma! {Bridgerton vibes, anyone?!}
For the second half of their engagement session, Thomas & Emma wanted more chill vibes. We moved over to Muchacho, a restaurant/cafe right off the Beltline in Atlanta. It’s a place that Thomas & Emma love going together, so I’m happy they wanted to include it in their photos. Thomas & Emma often go on reading dates – where they’ll go somewhere together and read their own books. I love that they do that and make a point to go together! Although we didn’t plan a full reading date, we captured the vibes of their evenings out at the Bar Trotter. It’s got such a neat 70s vibe and is super simplistic. Thomas & Emma enjoyed some margaritas {and hopefully some tacos once I left!}. It’s such a true Atlanta place – I can’t get over the vibes here, perfect for Thomas & Emma!
Congratulations again, Thomas & Emma! Thank you for trusting me with your vision for your photos. I love how your session came together and I’m so excited for your big day!
