Fiona & Tiger had the most fun and unique wedding day in Duluth GA. It was split into two parts, honoring their Chinese and Vietnamese traditions. Fiona & Tiger’s wedding day felt like a gathering of their community – their family and friends who have supported them. Their Chinese-Vietnamese Fusion Wedding in Duluth GA was a stunning affair and filled with so much love.

Chinese-Vietnamese Fusion Wedding in Duluth GA
Part one of their wedding day was at Fiona’s parents home. It started with a presentation of gifts from Tiger, his side, and his family. The bridesmaids had challenges and games for Tiger and his side as they proved his “worthiness.” There was a ton of silliness and laughter and a house chock full of people. Fiona looked stunning in her red Chinese traditional dress. I love that it was important to them to honor these traditions.

What did you love about your venue/wedding location?
Although the air conditioning went out, we were able to celebrate our big day with close family from all over the country in my childhood home in the morning. It made the day much more special than it being held elsewhere.

Fiona & Tiger had a traditional tea ceremony. The ceremony consisted of the couples serving tea to the married folks in their family. In turn, passed on a little advice to each of them. Despite the heat wave and the fact that the AC was knocked out the day before, everyone was in great spirits and rallied for Fiona & Tiger. Honestly it felt like the holidays at a loved one’s home, so full of love and happiness.

What were you most anxious or nervous about regarding your wedding day and how did it turn out?
I was anxious about everything! Although we went over the timeline over and over with everyone involved, it didn’t go exactly as planned, but I realized at the end of the day, it didn’t matter as long as we enjoyed ourselves.

Their ceremony was followed by a lunch in the backyard {featuring the roast pig that was gifted earlier in the day} where the families intermingled, chatted, and took some naps on the couches. It was incredible to see their community go through these traditions to help ensure Fiona & Tiger are the perfect fit for each other.

Any tips for future couples on how to prepare for their wedding photos?
Maybe plan a few poses if you have any ideas. Raven did a great job at capturing the day, but have in mind who you’d like to have photos with and some interesting poses prepared.

Canton House Wedding Ceremony & Reception
After lunch, part two began! Tiger changed his tie, Fiona changed her outfit, and part two was held at a beautiful Chinese restaurant. Their ceremony was up on stage and was filled with more jokes and sentimental moments, followed by a slide deck presentation from the couple that included the answers to questions they’d asked of their guests. Things like “who do you think is the better driver,” “who is more likely to forget to feed a pet,” and “who is the better cook?”. It was hilarious and so much fun. Afterwards, Fiona changed again so they could visit with all of their guests. They took shots – and Tiger had a hard time keeping up with every table, but they managed!

What advice would you give to other couples planning their wedding?
Honestly, don’t invite so many people 😜 Since Tiger was the first son to get married in his side of the family, and I, one of the first on my side as well, we allowed our parents to invite everyone they wanted out of formalities. However, it’s your wedding day, and you should be able to control who comes and who might not fit the budget.

Their reception was a culmination of their family and friends’ love for them. The flowers were created by one of Fiona’s brothers, they had family style meals at each table, and the dessert table was filled by their loved ones. Fiona & Tiger spent the night dancing with their guests – and Fiona even changed one more time into a green outfit with green crocs. It was a nod to Shrek {given her name is Fiona and that she loves the movie!}.

Most memorable moment from your wedding day?
My most memorable moment was when Tiger had a little too much to drink, he had to sit on the dressing room and relax in the dark. I came in and sat with him, and it was just the two of us. It was away from everyone else, and so peaceful, the glazed look in his eyes as he said “I love you” meant everything.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
I didn’t script the thank you speech before the day, and on the actual event, my mind completely blanked!!! There were so many specific people I wanted to thank, and I panicked, and skipped by everyone. I’d 100% at least write more notes to self for the day of.

This day was chock full of life and the most glorious chaos. It was the kind of joy that I absolutely live for on a wedding day!
