Brooke and Travis spent the first part of their session at home: peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, games, slow dancing in the living room, the dog getting thoroughly cuddled. They’re moving out soon, and though they’re excited about the next steps in their plans, this place has been a wonderful home for them, full of pieces and things they love, so they wanted to start there for their session. Then they got changed and we took the session into downtown Macon.

First stop was the Quill at the Woodward, the speakeasy-style bar tucked into the bottom of the Woodward Hotel. They got drinks and played some games, enjoying the privacy that came with getting there at the beginning of the night. The Quill has an in credible vibe — low light, good atmosphere, and the perfect match to their 70’s aesthetic..

From there we walked through the alleyways over to the Hummingbird bar and taproom, which is exactly the kind of dive bar that earns loyal regulars. They got another drink, smoked some herbal cigarettes for the vibe, played darts: just having an evening in a place they love.

Brooke and Travis have loved making Macon their own, and it shows in how fluidly they move through the city and even how they talk about it, which absolute adoration. This downtown Macon engagement session felt like following two people through their actual life, which is always the best kind.
