Sarah & Tristan’s engagement session at Gene’s BBQ was a whole vibe. They channeled their love of Mad Men into their engagement portraits into this Atlanta staple. Gene’s BBQ honestly has enough personality for 50 engagement sessions and I love it SO much.

With martini glasses in hand, Sarah & Tristan turned the empty restaurant into their own vintage playground. Sarah & Tristan enjoyed the empty space – walking around, dancing, chatting, and just having the time of their lives. They kicked off the session with a more vintage look before changing into casual outfits.

I personally love when my couples have outfit changes planned for their session. We get a bigger variety of images and capture more of your personalities. Speaking of variety, I want to point out that Sarah & Tristan’s session took place in only one venue. Gene’s had so many fantastic spots – the artwork outside, the lockers, the bar and dance floor. I know that couples often feel like when they plan a session, they need to go all over to get a variety of photos. But, it’s my job to get that variety – not yours. I want you to have as many photos as possible and as many awesome photos as possible. I’m always looking for new ways to tell a story, or capture a moment differently.

For Sarah & Tristan – the jukebox, the retro decor, the quiet intimacy of having the place to themselves—it was all so perfectly them. They brought their whole selves to our session {which I always love} and it turned out to be such a beautiful Atlanta engagement session because of it.
