Plan Your Dream Juliette Chapel Wedding in Dahlonega, GA
If you’re picturing a Juliette Chapel wedding, you already have a sense of what draws couples here: it’s small, it’s warm, and it doesn’t feel like a wedding venue so much as a really good friend’s backyard. Juliette Chapel, tucked into the woods just outside Dahlonega, Georgia, was built for couples who want their people close, their ceremony intimate, and their day to feel like them rather than a production. I photographed Erin and Summer’s wedding here this spring, and it’s exactly that kind of place.

About Juliette Chapel
Juliette Chapel & Events sits at 497 Highway 52 West in Dahlonega, about ten minutes from the historic downtown square. The chapel itself is compact — 40 by 20 feet, with sixteen wood benches plus two more in the back, so you’re looking at a max of around 70 seated guests. If you’re picturing an intimate guest list, it’s a great choice.
One of the aspects that makes the chapel so special is the light: the whole front wall is windows — an 8-by-4-foot window backdrop behind where you’ll stand to say your vows — and they frame the surrounding forest instead of blocking it out. It’s rustic without trying too hard to be, elegant but not fussy.
There’s a getting ready suite with a private bath for prep, but just the single one, so most couples book rooms at The Limelight Inn next door, which also has a woodland pavilion that’s great for a rehearsal dinner.

My advice for this venue:
Consider building your ceremony time around the light in the chapel. It will always be less bright in the chapel than it is outside, and very few times of day get full-on bright light, so you should always have soft light, so don’t be afraid of booking a ceremony when the sun is high.

Ceremony Locations at Juliette Chapel
Most couples marry right inside the chapel, with that big window wall as the backdrop, it’s a built-in view of the woods. If you’d rather be outside, there’s an arbor and a woodland setting on the property for an outdoor ceremony instead.

Reception Venues at Juliette Chapel
The reception building connects to an outdoor patio strung with café lighting and covered by a pergola, with wine barrels and an outdoor bar built into the space. It’s designed to flow — you can dance inside or move it out onto the lawn, and the whole layout leans into that indoor-outdoor ease rather than forcing everyone into one room.

Photography Opportunities at Juliette Chapel
The forest is one of the stars here. Between the chapel’s window-lined walls and the wooded grounds around the property, there’s natural light and greenery in almost every direction, which means portraits don’t need a special “spot” — they happen everywhere. The patio’s café lights make for a great golden-hour-into-evening stretch, and the walking path over to The Limelight Inn (lit at night) is a nice quiet moment if you want portraits away from the group.

Dahlonega itself adds more if you want it: the historic downtown square has that small-town charm if you’re doing a day-after session or want a change of scenery for engagement photos, and the surrounding wine country — Wolf Mountain, Three Sisters, Cavender Creek, and others — is worth knowing about if your guests are sticking around for the weekend.

A Real Life Juliette Chapel Wedding // Erin & Summer
I’ve gotten to know Erin and Summer over multiple events, so i loved being their for their wedding at Juliette Chapel. Their proposal happened at Little Mulberry Park, on the same sunny hill where the two of them first sat and talked for hours back in the early days of their relationship. (You can see the full proposal story here.) And we got back together for a sunrise session together after the wedding.

The venue’s small footprint and wall of windows gave the whole day a “backyard house party” feeling rather than a formal production, which suited Erin and Summer perfectly. We did an outdoor first look before anything else, just the two of them finding a quiet minute in the trees before the day got loud. The ceremony was officiated by one of their close friends, who wove in stories only someone who actually knows them could tell, and by the time we got to the reception, the whole thing felt exactly like what it was: their nearest and dearest, gathered for a big family dinner. There were happy tears, people holding onto each other, and that unmistakable feeling you get when a couple is loved by their community, not just admired, but genuinely, deeply loved.
