I adore Emily & Joseph! When they asked me to plan their lifestyle Charlotte NC engagement session at their current home, I couldn’t wait! There is honestly nothing I love more than photographing a couple in their happiest and most comfortable spaces. Every home presents a unique challenge to create beautiful images but it’s the best kind of challenge to me!
We kicked off Emily & Joseph’s portraits with time at home – focusing on time with their dog and cat. I loved that Emily & Joseph wanted to include their furry family in their session {and it is always more than okay with me!}. They love their fireplace, filled with candles, and some of their family’s old furniture that they have in their house. So, it became equally important to me to include those spaces in their photos. We also made sure to capture Joseph making one of his famous cocktails and a relaxing rock on their front porch, too. Everything that they do together as a couple is something I want to document!
I have to share, Emily & Joseph have now left this home and it was part of why we did their session when we did. They wanted to commemorate their journey here and capture the vibes of the space that they came to love.
After we were done at home, Emily & Joseph changed into more formal outfits and headed to one of Emily’s favorite parks. This is somewhere she used to come to with her dad and it’s full of fond memories. I love that was the reason Emily & Joseph chose to go to that park! We had a beautiful day so we enjoyed a walk around the pond and the walking trail. As I always do, I kept my eyes peeled for unique light or beautiful colors – and we found plenty! Emily & Joseph were so happy to just spend the time together and let me do my thing.
