I’ve known Sarah for a little while now, though only online. So when she reached out to plan their Houston engagement photos I was so excited! I’ve visited Texas a couple of times now but had only briefly been through Houston proper, so I was really looking forward to getting to see some bits of the town Sarah & Chris call home.

Lifestyle Houston Engagement Photos

We started off at their home, a fairly recent purchase for these two, that has a really lovely backyard {with some of my favorite plants!} and plenty of room for the two of them, their incredibly loving dogs Shadow & Smoke, and Chris’s children. I was given the full tour, which I always love because it gives me such great insight into who you are as people! Plus it allows me to really see all of the photographic opportunities and possibilities throughout the house. What might look like nothing to you might be the perfect backdrop to me!

Once the rain passed by – and there had been some wild flooding recently, so this was perfect timing! We headed out to a nearby park in their neighborhood, one they love exploring together, strolling along the paths, and looking out at the beautiful water. We found crawfish in the sidewalk puddles, there was an incredible breeze coming off the water, and my favorite kind of sky: blue but also moody from recent storms. I’ll be back in Houston in the spring for their wedding and I can’t wait! Their Houston engagement photos were so much fun to photograph – and I’m so happy I got to spend this time with Chris & Sarah.
