I’ve been photographing Becca and Brittney going on 10 years now. During that time, I’ve had the honor and joy of watching this little family grow. Now that Bayard is here I get to photograph him too! They live close to Mason Mill Park, which is the same park we used for their engagement session back in 2016. It was such a beautiful full-circle moment that made my documentary heart SO happy to be back in the same location capturing their expanded family. Their Mason Mill family photos turned out more perfect than I could have imagined.

On a gorgeous spring afternoon, I met at their apartment. We then headed to the park with Bayard in tow along with his scooter that mostly got carried by his parents. Marcy, their sweet dog, came too, ready for stick-fetching duty. From there, a short neighborhood stroll led us into the familiar paths of Mason Mill Park, where they still visit often.

We played in Blue Creek, where Marcy tested her stick‑retrieving endurance and got her exercise in. At one point Becca and Brittney snuck off to pick honeysuckles and talk about nature and plants. It was a perfect spring afternoon that felt like it was made just for us. From there we made a big loop eventually landing at the playground just before the rain started coming down. Talk about timing!

Watching this family evolve over time, through their engagement, Atlanta Quaker Wedding, couple sessions and now family life has been one of the greatest joys of my work. I genuinely consider them some of my favorite people on the planet. It’s always a treat to be around them and document these special moments for them.
