One of the things I love most about branding photography is how personal and flexible it can be. Every client has different needs, goals, and audiences, which means every session looks a little different. For Andrea’s this therapist brand session in Atlanta, we focused on creating images that balanced professionalism with warmth, so her personality could shine through while still giving her those essential, functional “heavy-hitter” shots.

Professional and Personal Therapist Brand Session

This was actually the first of two sessions we planned together. I love splitting branding shoots this way because it allows us to capture multiple sides of someone’s story. For this one, we rented a studio in downtown Atlanta that perfectly aligned with Andrea’s brand colors and aesthetic. The clean, bright space set the stage for a gallery of images that could serve as polished headshots, website visuals, and more, all with just the right mix of formal and approachable.

As a therapist, her priority is to connect with athletes or former athletes, people who often wrestle with perfectionism, competition, and the pressure to “perform.” To reflect that, we focused on creating images that felt welcoming, open, and grounded. We photographed Andrea just being her natural, warm smiley self, as well as in more thoughtful, working moments that spoke to her role as a listener and guide.

A Customized Branding Approach

While this session leaned more professional, we also wove in a touch of personality. She changed into casual clothing, surrounded herself with books she loves, and we captured candid, lifestyle-inspired images alongside the more traditional portraits. Those little details made the gallery feel like her.

This was a highly customized session, designed specifically to showcase her brand and connect with her ideal clients. I don’t photograph any two branding sessions the same way, and that’s exactly the point. Each business, each story, each person deserves visuals that feel authentic to them and their business.

This was just part one. For her second session, we’ll head outdoors for a completely different vibe. Hiking and being in nature are huge parts of her life, and those images will add depth and personality to her brand story. I can’t wait to capture the more playful side of her, too!
