This session is especially close to my heart. Kristina and I have worked together {and been friends} for so many years that I honestly can’t remember when it all started. It feels like she’s just always been there. So when she reached out for a branding session to mark a big career transition, I was beyond excited (and honored!) to help tell that story through images.I actually traveled to Virginia for this shoot, whichI love doing. Branding Photos for Therapist
Kristina recently made a huge shift: from helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses, to stepping into the role of therapist. And with her new journey comes a new way of showing up in the world, which is exactly what this session was all about capturing. A big part of her work happens right out of her home office, so we knew we wanted to start there.
Because I’ve known Kristina for so long, I approached this shoot with a personal lens. I didn’t want the photos to just look professional, I wanted them to feel like her. That meant lots of light, color, and warmth. A little bit quirky, a little bubbly, and 100% Kristina. We pulled in elements that speak to her personality including her love of Disney, her stacks of books, her latest creative passion, embroidery and of course, her sweet dog who’s always nearby.
We even got to celebrate her graduation milestone with some backyard confetti. It was ridiculously fun and exactly the kind of energy I think branding photos should have. (Side note: If you ever need confetti tips, I’ve got you.)
Branding Session in Bowling Green VA
After the at-home portion, we popped over to downtown Bowling Green. We grabbed some outdoor shots that added variety, gave her some cute, everyday work-life vibes, and brought a little more of that signature Kristina energy. And because her branding is rooted in therapy and joy, we couldn’t resist adding a few nods to Inside Out 2, because it’s basically her in Pixar form, and it brought the perfect pop of color and emotion into the shoot.
Branding sessions like this one remind me why I do this. It’s not just about getting a good headshot. It’s about telling a story and helping you show up in the world exactly as you are. When your personality, values, and quirks come through in your photos, that’s when people really connect with you.
