Sam and Logan’s Wildflower 301 spring wedding had everything you’d want from this venue in full bloom — pastel bridal party, garden ceremony under the stone arches, fairy lights falling from the reception ceiling, and a bride who changed into a party dress halfway through the night. It rained, and nobody cared. The gardens absorbed the whole day beautifully, the way they do.
I’ve photographed at Wildflower 301 across different seasons, and spring is something else entirely here. The grounds are at their most alive — color everywhere, the air soft, the light through the garden pathways warm and diffused in a way that makes everything feel a little like a dream. If you’ve been picturing a garden party wedding, this is the version of this venue you want to see.
My advice for this venue in spring: Don’t wait on booking — spring dates go fast here and for good reason. Plan your ceremony for late afternoon if you can, when the light through the arches is at its best. And if it rains, embrace it. Some of the most beautiful moments from Sam and Logan’s day happened under umbrellas in the gardens.

Plan Your Wildflower 301 Spring Wedding in Greensboro, GA
If a Wildflower 301 spring wedding has been living on your mood board, it’s probably because there’s nothing quite like this property when everything is in bloom. Wildflower 301 is a historic mansion estate in downtown Greensboro, Georgia — about an hour east of Atlanta — set on two acres of English-style gardens that shift and change with every season. Spring is when it’s at its most abundant: flowers, butterflies, lush pathways, and that particular quality of Georgia light that makes everything glow. It’s a certified butterfly sanctuary, a genuine piece of Southern history, and one of the most photographically rich venues in the state.

About Wildflower 301
The Wildflower 301 property has roots going back to 1803, when the land in Greensboro was originally purchased with the intention of becoming the University of Georgia campus — before that plan ultimately moved to Athens. The mansion that grew on the property over the following decades has been lovingly restored into what it is today: a 5,000 square foot Southern estate surrounded by two acres of cultivated English gardens.
The grounds feel genuinely tended rather than staged. Flowers, magnolias, garden pathways, and the occasional butterfly are just part of the daily reality here. The venue accommodates up to 170 guests and includes both the historic mansion and a separate 7,000 square foot Celebration House, so ceremony and reception spaces feel distinct without asking guests to go anywhere.

Ceremony Locations at Wildflower 301
The outdoor ceremony space — anchored by three cathedral-style stone arches — is the heart of a Wildflower 301 wedding, and in spring it’s surrounded by blooming gardens at their peak. Sam and Logan married right there on the lawn, the arches framing them against all that green and color. The space is beautiful enough on its own that it needs very little added to it, though couples find all kinds of ways to make it personal.
The Magnolia Terrace is another option for ceremonies or cocktail hour — century-old magnolias overhead, strung with market lights, creating a canopy that’s especially lovely in the longer evenings of late spring. The garden pathways, gate entrances, and nooks throughout the property also give you natural options for processionals and portraits that feel relaxed and unforced.

Reception Venues at Wildflower 301
The Celebration House brings the garden party indoors without losing the feeling of being outside. Large windows keep the garden views present, and the built-in dance floor, dining space, and bar make it a fully functional reception space. Sam and Logan draped fairy lights from the ceiling and filled the room with pastel centerpieces in wicker baskets — the whole thing looked like spring distilled into a reception.
The outdoor spaces stay in play during cocktail hour too — guests spilled out onto the brick pathway and lawn for lawn games while the couple took portraits in the gardens. That flow between inside and outside is one of the things Wildflower 301 does especially well in spring when the weather cooperates.
