Chelsea & Nick // Smyrna Wedding Day

Chelsea & Nick married on a chilly day in Smyrna, Georgia surrounded by loved ones and a ton of cat decor, dedicated to their three cats who celebrated from home. They had personal pies instead of cake, plenty of hot pink accents, cutouts of their cats as photo booth props, and a killer dance floor. The entire celebration was so uniquely them and despite the less-than-stellar weather, Chelsea & Nick’s wedding day was a roaring success. I’m so happy that I met Chelsea through Jade & Matt and that I had the honor of photographing Chelsea & Nick’s wedding day now, too!

Getting Ready

Chelsea prepared for the big day with her mother – in matching jumpsuits, nonetheless! It was super sweet and a lot of fun to watch. One of my favorite parts of the day was how involved Chelsea & Nick made their grandmothers. When they arrived to prep with Chelsea, you could just feel the love filling the room. Chelsea also made sure to include subtle nods in their details to her and Nick’s three cats – which I freaking loved. Her earrings were little cats – so cute and perfect.

What advice would you give to other couples planning their wedding?

Take leftovers, don’t do anything you don’t want to do just because it’s “tradition”

Ceremony at Smyrna GA City Hall

Chelsea & Nick had planned an outdoor ceremony in Smyrna, GA and were looking forward to it since we’d had a mild February. Of course… teh day of their ceremony turned out to be super cold! Everyone was amazing and were troopers for the newlyweds. Chelsea & Nick said “I do” in front of a beautiful greenery filled arbor with pops of pink in their looks.

What were you most anxious or nervous about regarding your Smyrna wedding day and how did it turn out?

Nick – the weather for the outdoor ceremony, turned out fine (no one died)

Chelsea – same (I regret it)

Wedding Reception in Smyrna

I LOVED Chelsea & Nick’s reception. They had so many cute pops of pinks, huge cutouts of their cats for their photobooth and delicious hand pies. It was important to Chelsea & Nick that they did what they wanted {which I believe every couple should do} even if it wasn’t traditional. It paid off and they had a killer party with their loved ones all around them.

Any tips for future couples on how to prepare for their wedding photos?

Make sure you have a guest wrangler, don’t be self conscious, and have FUN – this is the only thing you’re really going to have left from the day after a while!
