The Engine Room Wedding // Patrick & Ross

Patrick & Ross are married! You saw their FRIENDS Expo portrait session, their Trader Joe’s engagement session, so now feast your eyes on Patrick & Ross’s winter wonderland-themed Engine Room wedding! Patrick and Ross have an eye for decor, are super crafty, and know how to party. Their celebration was honestly just a lot of fun and I can’t wait for you to see it all.

Patrick and Ross haa spectacular day full of warm and wonderful humans. From the moment I arrived onsite, I could just feel the love of their families and friends surrounding them. I also got to see some familiar faces, which always makes the day better! They held their wedding at The Engine Room in Monroe, GA, which is a great industrial venue in the area. It was perfect for Patrick and Ross, who are super crafty, creative, and design-oriented. They took this blank space and brought their own winter wonderland flair to the day. Since their wedding was in mid-December, they leaned heavily into the season with wooden snowflakes, wooden flowers, and even flocked decor.

Their ceremony was a Jewish-Christian fusion to incorporate both of their beliefs and it was beautiful: the two of them surrounded by twinkly lights and loved ones, since their ceremony was also in the round! {Hands-down my favorite kind of arrangement.}  I’m still pretty obsessed with the chandelier that was hanging over their ceremony, too.

Most memorable moment from your wedding day?

Standing in line before walking down the aisle, and having our wedding party occasionally glance back to wish us luck.

Despite being a winter wedding, we had sprinkles happening all day. While no one likes rain on their wedding day, I had a great time getting creative with the light, the rain, and the clear umbrellas I had. Patrick & Ross were amazing, trusting me the whole time and always being open to trying something different.

What were you most anxious or nervous about regarding your wedding day and how did it turn out?

The Weather. Our cocktail area and mobile-bartending were outside. While we had a Rain Plan, we were still nervous if people would want to be outside or even venture to the mobile trailer bar. Fortunately, the weather held out and wasn’t as bad as forecasted. Everyone told us the wedding was perfect, without knowing what we were anxious about.

Their reception was a wild and full-on dance party complete with multiple hora dances. Everyone had a super fun time celebrating the newlyweds! During the reception, Patrick & Ross got their wedding party together for a dramatic champagne popping – which are definitely some of my favorite photos of the night. Their reception was one of the places that Patrick & Ross really brought their personalities and love of FRIENDS to their wedding day. Their cake was absolutely stunning – just look at the detail!!! Every table also had a centerpiece containing the name of a FRIENDS episode, along with tons of glowy candlelight. On top of all of those details, Patrick & Ross had a mobile bar setup with two signature drinks named after themselves: the Ross Cow Mule and Carterita! We ended the night with a sparkler exit and the most perfect kiss at the end of the sparkler tunnel.

What did you love about your venue/wedding location?

The Flexibility. No matter how many obstacles we were faced with (which were a lot), our venue director was willing to do everything humanly possible to make our day the perfect day without worrying about additional costs. She put us over the dollar.

What advice would you give to other couples planning their wedding?

You will face so many obstacles on your wedding day, some expected, most not. Having a great coordinator as well as groomsmen and bridesmaids to take on all the stress will make your day as enjoyable as possible.

Any tips for future couples on how to prepare for their wedding photos?

Great photos are captured through candid shots. Just relax, laugh, and enjoy each other’s company because your photographer will capture the Amazing and Beautiful Moments.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

No. There is no perfectly planned wedding, even if you spend two years on it. All that time spent planning is over in a matter of hours. You’ll discover how any problem that arises on your wedding day can be turned into a positive instantly, when surrounded by great friends and family. You will only notice the design flaws, but they will only see the love and happiness that fills the room.
