Throuple Portrait Session in Atlanta Backyard // Kristen, Jenny, & Josh

Kristen & Jenny & Josh were celebrating their wedding together and wanted a portrait session to reflect that! This throuple wanted to focus on the wedding and their guests on wedding day. Because of that, they chose to have their official wedding day photos a few weeks before the event itself. I absolutely loved this idea because it worked for THEM. These three wanted to relieve some of the stress around their wedding day and feel free to direct more of their attention to their guests and celebration on the big day. People making choices that make sense for them seriously excites me. Kristen actually reached out to me in 2019 about this session, but with the pandemic we all had to wait patiently for it to happen. The wait was definitely worth it for me to photograph Kristen and her spice {plural of “spouse”, as they shared with me – I LOVE it!}!

Throuple Portrait Session in Magical Atlanta Backyard

We started off at their magical gingerbread-witch’s-house in the deep dark wood with the three of them in their wedding clothes. From the moment Kristen inquired about the session between the three of them, they mentioned this gorgeous yellow dress. It’s been something we’ve all been looking forward to seeing and photographing! I also want to be clear: their backyard was absolutely magical. I’m obsessed with all of the ferns and water features they have. It was the perfect spot for their wedding portraits! We played in the sunlight and water features of their beautiful backyard before heading inside for party two of the session.

After we were done in the backyard, it was time for party two of their session! They all changed into more casual clothes and we took their dog on a walk at a nearby park! They like the water there as well as all the deep foliage. Here (as in the backyard), my job was really about capturing the relationships they all have together. Whether I’m photographing a throuple like this or just a big family, my goal is always the same: document who everyone is separately and together. We closed out just as a heavy rain was starting to fall, which really added to the magic of the entire session.

Kristen, Jenny, and Josh: thank you for waiting with me for this magical session. I’m so happy we finally had the chance to document your love!
