History and Beauty

The Swan House, built in 1928, is a historic mansion listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It boasts vintage architectural details, including a grand staircase, water fountains, and columns. This setting is perfect for a range of events, from garden weddings to black-tie ballroom receptions. The property is private and offers numerous photography locations, antique cars, multiple gardens, and guests can tour the inside of the Swan House during the reception.

Versatility

The Swan House provides a variety of event options, making it ideal for grand, classic, elegant, dreamy, and charming weddings. The scenic gardens and multiple ceremony and reception locations, such as the Swan House Gardens and the Grand Overlook Ballroom, offer beautiful backdrops and versatile spaces. The mansion’s grand staircase makes a stunning entrance for the bride, and outdoor receptions can be adorned with market lights and classic table settings.

Unique Guest Experience

As part of the Atlanta History Center, the Swan House offers a unique experience for guests. Your wedding includes access to the Atlanta History Center Museum, which features award-winning permanent and traveling exhibits. You can even host your reception and rehearsal dinner at the museum, adding a historic and educational element to your event.

Swan House Ceremony Locations

Swan House & Gardens

The Swan House & Gardens offer a beautiful location with historical appeal for a memorable wedding ceremony. With natural beauty and majestic cascading fountains, it is one of the most highly sought-after outdoor venues in Atlanta. The welcoming entrance and private lawn create an elegant setting, and only the bride and her escorts are allowed inside the historic house museum. If you hold your cocktail hour in the Swan House Gardens, guests can tour the historic Swan House for the full hour.

An alternate wedding ceremony location, known as the “Column Side” of the Swan House Gardens, is located just on the other side of the mansion. The Swan House Gardens are versatile enough to host a dinner party or act as a pre-function space for the Grand Overlook Ballroom. The lawns can accommodate 50 to 750 guests, and evening events can be held from 6:00 pm or later for 10 hours, including setup and cleanup time.

Olguita's Garden Venue

Olguita’s Garden blooms year-round with fragrant flowers. This ornamental garden, adjoining terrace, and private lawn are ideal for intimate ceremonies or cocktail hours adjacent to the Grand Overlook Ballroom. Olguita’s Garden can accommodate approximately 50 people for a ceremony, while the Museum Terraces can host up to 350 guests. These spaces cannot be rented on their own but make a wonderful addition to events at the Grand Overlook Ballroom or Atlanta History Museum.

Swan House Photos

I’ve had the pleasure of photographing a Swan House wedding, and it was truly spectacular. This couple filled their event with unique experiences, from guest watercolor portraits to an electric violinist, a tarot reader, and an interactive guestbook with personal LEGO figurines. The ceremony took place in the Swan House Gardens with the mansion as the backdrop, cocktail hour in Olguita’s Garden, the reception in the Overlook Ballroom, and portraits and receiving lines throughout the grounds.
