Kyla & Tim// Wahoo! Grill Wedding
You know those couples who are just a complete dream from start to finish? Who are overflowing with gratitude and kindness and are an utter joy in every moment? That’s Kyla & Tim. This outstanding couple have been a delight from the word “go”, and their wedding was, of course, no exception. They’re truly some of the kindest people I’ve ever had the joy of working with and I hope that their wedding day is not the end of our work together. Kyla & Tim put up with anything I asked – even if it was being goofy and let me push them out of their comfort zone. Their entire Wahoo! Grill wedding day was simply beautiful and a reflection of them.
Getting Ready
If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
Amazingly, no. We learned so much throughout this process. Our vendors were all wonderful people to work with and we’re beyond grateful for their expertise in getting us through it all, as well as all the love and support that surrounded us that day.

Atlanta First Look & Wedding Portraits
Their first look and couple portraits were such a blast to plan out. It almost felt like a mini-elopement, honestly, so much intention went into this section of their day. During their engagement session, I learned that they LOVE museums and historical spots. After getting ready separately, we all three met up near the Fabulous Fox Theatre in Atlanta, one of my absolute favorite spots here. It worked perfectly for so many reasons. First, they’re huge theatre people – in fact, Tim pointed out where they stood waiting for Hamilton tickets for ours. Second, they knew they wanted privacy during their first look {which is always a priority of mine, anyway!} and the Fox Theatre provided some great options. It might sound wild, aiming for privacy near such a huge Atlanta staple, but I happened to know of a little ivy-covered private corner that lent itself PERFECTLY for their first look.
What advice would you give to other couples planning their wedding?
Give yourself as much time to plan as possible. Prioritize what’s important to you and your spouse and cut out all the excessive noise. Comparison is the thief of joy – don’t get caught up in the Pinterest or IG aesthetic. Focus on each other and make it your own. Want a traditional wedding? Do it. Don’t want any traditions? Do it. There are no rules when it comes to the perfect wedding. That’s for you and your partner to decide.

Wahoo! Grill Wedding Ceremony
From there we shot all over the outside of the theatre and played in traffic a bit before heading to the Wahoo! Grill for the ceremony. The Wahoo! Grill has been on my bucket list forever, so it was a dream come true to photograph their wedding day here. I’m obsessed with the patio the ceremonies are held on – look at all those plants!! Kyla & Tim brought their own personalities to their ceremony, and you could tell. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house!
Most memorable moment from your wedding day?
For Tim, it was the first look. He says it was a moment he’ll never be able to put into words. For Kyla, it was the entire ceremony – from walking down the aisle to vows. Seeing Tim and all our loved ones is an image forever imprinted in my mind.

What were you most anxious or nervous about regarding your wedding day and how did it turn out?
The weather! We were checking every available weather forecast out there and the closer we got, the more it seemed thunderstorms and showers were going to derail all our plans. Turned out to be a beautifully sunny day. We’re still pinching ourselves!
What did you love about your venue/wedding location?
Wahoo! Grill is like a hidden garden oasis. The name is a little misleading – when you enter, it’s absolutely beautiful, charming with a cool vintage feel, plus the food is delicious and staff is very friendly.
Wedding Reception
Afterwards, we all enjoyed the night with Kyla & Tim, now husband and wife, with a tented wedding reception. Everyone had a blast and I loved capturing it all. There was just so much joy in their celebration. I love how much Kyla & Tim are loved by their family and friends, and that everyone could come party with them!!
Any tips for future couples on how to prepare for their wedding photos?
Trust Raven! She’s a complete pro who makes it as easy as possible for you so you can focus on all the other moving parts (and there’s so many!). She was calm and reassuring through everything, talked through backup plans, and answered every single question. She’s a gem.
Kyla & Tim, your wedding day was truly beautiful and I hope I’ll see you again soon!
