Queer Content Day in North Carolina // Whimsical Woodland Elopement
Imagine, if you will, the wedding or a fairy and an elf… of Lord of the Rings. Think of the twinkling candlelight, the gauzy fabrics, the wild backdrop, and the natural elements there. incorporated like moss, wood, and stone. This was the final setting for the content day was a whimsical woodland elopement. Recently, I participated in in North Carolina, hosted by Curated by Crooked Window {see Love in Bloom & Gothic Glam} and this was the last part. When I walked into this setup and met my beautiful models, Hollis & Ollie, we chatted about the chill fairy-elf vibes and got to work as the “blue hour” settled around us.
Hollis & Ollie were my elven fae couple and they did a great job; they’re so cute yet serene at the same time. I’d long wanted to play around with “blue hour” {aka twilight} and this was my chance. The setup included some really cool candles among all the woodsy vibes and I just pushed myself to play with the light and mirrors available. I loved the details on this setup and it was important to me document them all… especially that amazing bouquet! While Hollis & Ollie posed, I played with long exposures on my camera. All styled shoots are about learning new skills and getting creative, so I was happy to get such a great push on this shoot! It definitely took me out of my comfort zone and I couldn’t be happier with the end results!
