Woodland Gardens Family Session // Angie, Brendan, & Wally
Man alive I adore these folks. I’ve had the complete joy of seeing them multiple times over the year and not only are they the most chill couple, but they’ve also produced one of the coolest babies around. Wally is such a treasure and it’s been a blast seeing him grow! I first photographed Angie & Brendan for their engagement session, then their wedding, then their maternity/parental session just before Wally was born, and now at some of my mini session days. It’s truly an honor to get to see people again and again. I already know that they get my style and we’re so comfortable we just make magic every time!
Woodland Gardens Family Session in the Fall
This is one of the reasons mini sessions can be so great. They’re perfect if you’re in the market for a wedding photographer, to get to know them briefly and see if you jive well enough to choose them for your wedding {this is also a great reason for an engagement session!}. They’re perfect if you’re looking to find a family photographer to come back to again and again. And they’re perfect if you just want a little taste of a session just because!
Personally, I do a lot of research when it comes to where I want to have my mini session days. I want to find something less trafficked, less known, so we won’t be overwhelmed with either other shoots going on or onlookers. My goal is to keep the distractions to a minimum, especially for these shorter sessions where we have a lot to get done in a little amount of time, so the fewer people around the better!
I also always want versatility: Is there somewhere to sit, stand, crouch behind bushes or flowers or foliage {it’s a thing}? Are there places in the shade and in the sun? How will it look different at my first session of the day vs the final session of the day? For this round of mini sessions, I went with the Woodland Gardens because it fit the bill so perfectly!
